Success Stories 

Over the years, Ladder ministries Uganda has been rendering support to its target groups through contributions from well-wishers/ individuals and some members of the ministry.  Within the first years of its establishment, LMU through its founders mobilized funds to rent a ground on which currently, the Ministries’ Church, head office, tailoring school and tree nursery bed are temporary located. In 2013, LMU received a gift of sum of UGX 5 million shillings from the president of the Republic of Uganda “His Excellency General Yoweri Kaguta Museveni” to purchase a sound system to encourage the youths to participate and develop skills in Music, Dance and Drama. In the same year LMU received a donation of clothes from Dresses for Orphans. From 2014 to 2015 LMU mobilized resources and supported orphans, child mothers, school drop-outs and the most vulnerable and marginalized groups to a tune of 744 persons with scholastic materials and informal trainings on bead bag making, liquid soap production and donated 2 sewing machines to a group of 20 widows living with HIV/AIDS. In 2016, the Organisation received support of humanitarian goods from Crossroads Foundation a Christian Charity Organisation based in Hong-Kong and supported approximately 4,000 OVCs and vulnerable persons. 

 

These persons were provided support in terms of clothes, footwear, school furniture, scholastic materials, sport equipment, beddings, hygiene items amongst others and medical equipment which was donated to Amach Health IV and Care-Uganda. From the support received from Crossroads Foundation, LMU was able to establish a nursery and primary school “Child’s Care Nursery and Primary School” which was handed over to Kole District Community for their management. In addition, the organisation joined the world in 2018 to date in the fight for climate change and in this fight, the organisation has donated approximately 1,000,000 seedlings to different communities in Lango sub-region especially persons with disabilities and OVCs households, these seedlings included; timbers species, fruits and other fast growing tree varieties which are a source of fuel and an alternative to charcoal production. According to United Nations Environment Programme 2023, the world is in a climate emergency unless greenhouse gas emissions fall dramatically, warming could pass 2.9°C this century. Currently, LMU is conducting tailoring training sessions for OVCs, tree nursery bed management, music trainings for youths and evangelism programs in Lango and Acholi sub-regions.

     

Environmental Conservation

  1. Approximately over 3 million seedlings were raised from 2018 to date, 1 million seedlings were donated to OVCs and PWDs, 2 million seedlings were sold to finance some of the ministries' activities and 256 youths have been trained on tree nursery bed management
